Unbelievable, the audacity of closed minds. The proselytizing in Iraq is bad enough, and I would almost call it misguided, except for the follow-up of the ad run by Kieffe Ford. So, here I am, a Jew who, through Alcoholics Anonymous, believes in a Higher Power - believe me, I would no more buy a Ford from that asshole than I would hand out pamphlets in Iraq. Does the word Boycott come to mind?
Tis not Christianity that should be hated, but pseudo-christianity. True Christianity is not offensive. C'mon, Betmo, what did Jesus say that offends you?
BTW-- McClatchey had that proselytizing story on it's front page this morning. I read it in it's entirety on the And, yes, I DO take it personally Radio Show this morning. It was utterly disgusting to me, but coming from the Bush Adm, doesn't surprise me in the least. I guess the 'surge' must be working; they've got to stir up the hornets nest once again.

Huh, where could I start? Maybe where Jesus said he approves of the cruelties of the Old Testament? Where he claimed that most people will go to Hell? Where he said we should ditch our family members and follow him exclusively? Where he said entire cities that didn't follow him would go to Hell and suffer terrible deaths?
Just a small sample that might cause Betmo some alarm...
Sarah-- I'm sorry your knowledge of New Testament Scriptures is so miniscule. Before taking things out of context and making broad assumptions, it might do you well to study the subject before begining weak arguments.
While no doubt, a few future child molesters signed up for the Marines, I strongly suspect this task was quietly thrust upon them by the same fucking idiot that hears "God" speak in his ear, but can't hear 80% of America screaming, "Stop murdering people!!!"
Re "what did Jesus ever say to you that so offended you." Jesus never said anything to anybody - because he doesn't exist, except in the mentally ill minds of the same shit suckers that can't wait for this planet to explode or burn up.
Religion and Christianity are merely masks that were invented by a bunch of whiners to avoid any and all responsibility.
ah- brother tim- my friend- i don't hate jesus. i believe that he was a man who was as flawed as any other and lived the best life he could. i don't believe he was the son of god- but i don't believe that this incarnation of christianity was what he had in mind either.
i hate christianity and organized religion of any stripe- judaism and islam also. there isn't any way to convince me that religion- those stated above or any of the other cultish religions like scientology- are here for any other purpose than to create haves and have nots in order to perpetuate itself.
i don't hate all christians- the people themselves believe for a variety of reasons but the faith and the hierarchy- i detest.
