on the previous post. i picked the young ladies only because they happened to be in the news- in no way is this simply young girls. if you think of the two has beens now on cable- the two coreys- or river phoenix or that poor guy named pete who is always in the news because he is stoned all of the time- and apparently is part of some band- well, it's guys too. tua brought up a point about these kids having fathers. i am sure that they did- absentee fathers and mothers though. dizzy brought up the point that many households are two income- and that's true. and fathers can be overindulgent as well as moms.
my bigger point was- that these folks get skewered in the press and in the streets as being horrible role models when it has been proven time and again that kids pick parents and teachers- in that order- as their role models. so, i am asking- what does that really say about us? yes, it is the parent's responsibility to raise their children to be responsible adults who can live in the real world. what we see in paris or britney or lindsey- or any of the kids i mentioned- is an abdication of that responsibility. now, we reap the whirlwind.

Doesn't matter if it is male or female, kids are most influenced by how they are raised.
