she called me because she was awestruck over the fact that these protests were held around the world. she used the word 'awesome' in describing how all of the protesters organized themselves all over with precision. she was also excited that rice, et al were put on the hot seat.

Um, Betmo? I sort of think your mom is pretty close to my age, which is far from geriatric. But, yes, it was a global protest, and well coordinated. At 6 PM, in Carson, there was a big old rally and protest - and yes, the majority of drivers were supportive. I saw nobody flipping us off.
I love the way that the NOLA crime rally fell inline with the other protest. I mean to tell you, Nagin got punked out!!! It was freaking beautiful!
