this is a joke
this shouldn't even be an issue. jesus never advocated torture- and neither did god. torture is a man- made invention--- although it has been used in god's name for centuries. christians want to be taken seriously- but when all you have is faith in what your preacher tells you to instead of your god- well, you can't be.

In my opinion, anyone, I repeat, anyone that says it is okay to torture another human being is totally wrong. Belief in a power higher than ourselves, god, if you will, doesn't have anything to do with it for me.
But this belief in heaven vs hell is what allowed Christians torture in the first place. They played god in the crusades and the inquisition and made "hell on earth" to punish what they judges as wrong. Same concept today. The attitude of "we're in the right because we're America so we'll punish you or make you tell the truth and it's okay to do it" is bullshit.

I agree 100%. Human-humane-humanity.
What has always perplexed me is the arrogance of acting as if "god" is on America's side... AS if they've some special knowledge that it is even likely. Bullshit indeed!
