tuesday peace now! post

in light of bushco escalating conflict with iran and single handedly reigniting the cold war- i have to say- when is enough enough? why are americans so afraid? why do we continue to buy into the bogus terrorist plots and orange alerts? we were a nation of go getters and do for ourselves- until a generation or so ago. what is it that has changed?

i think we are afraid of losing our stuff. how else to explain why we react so fearfully to everything? is it because a generation of americans has been raised with 'helicopter parents' who hover and smother their children and extinguish any individuality or creative thought? who knows? i do know that it is embarrassing. we are supposed to be the toughest most militaristic nation on the planet- and we cower and have to fight our wars elsewhere. how cowardly is pre-emptive striking? am i saying that i want war here? no- of course not. but i am saying that i want a free, open, really democratic republic- not a facade that has a crumbling foundation built on fear.

were we ever peaceful? no- not really. we only fought each other once- so i suppose in the grander scheme of things- that's peaceful. i would think that in a country that is so focused on facades and appearances- we would want the appearance of being peaceful at least. we focus so much on differences with other nations while trying to force conformity here. perhaps we should look around and find similarities with other nations- we might find some common ground and be able to actually and realistically work towards world peace in our lifetime.

there is really no good excuse- peace now!!!

It's alot like the boy who cried wolf except that far too many Americans (thanks in no part to the media) still react whenever there is a hint about a terror plot or the possibility that one was miraculously foiled and our lives were spared by our glorious leader.

hi b, here I am. been upgrading to vista and trying to do something productive. still trying to be around more and post myself. we'll see.

yeah, so bush, cheney and rice, et al, say they have no plans to attack Iran, but who knows. they have lied about so much and libby was just sentenced to prison.

maybe Congress can contain their damage for the next year or so but that is beginning to look doubtful also.

I do hope our fellow Americans wake up. Especially our fellow Americans in Florida and Ohio.

I know I'm going to sound like a nutjob conspiracy theorist, but I have a number of physically activist friends who swear that they have felt the effects of HAARP being directed at them during a long term protest at Ward Valley. I really think it might be generating some sort of sub aural "fear" vibe. The only reason I can think that it would work less on those of us who are really thinking and staying informed is that perhaps we were actually inspired by the fear mongering to educate ourselves. If fear = ignorance, than the ignorant can be easily manipulated by it.
This is the public face of HAARP:

But this site has some interesting articles about it:
http://www.haarp.net/

"* Disrupt human mental processes.
* Jam all global communications systems.
* Change weather patterns over large areas.
* Interfere with wildlife migration patterns.
* Negatively affect your health.
* Unnaturally impact the Earth's upper atmosphere."

Our desert has been used for government experimental crap forever. When we got hailstones the size of grapes (I am not exaggerating) and then rain and a flash flood within a half hour last July 4th, I really started wondering...
*shudder* It kinda freaks me out, to say the least.

I wonder what the Koolaid drinkers think about their wonderbrat junior now that he's reigniting the cold war. Don't they all just WORSHIP Reagan for ending it?

I talked with a man who was reticent about speaking up or doing anything and he said he kept thinking this wouldn't last, but it is lasting and lasting and lasting. He's speaking out now. I encouraged him, no end.

Obviously, perpetual war is much more profitable than peace. Sigh.

Btw, I'll post those random taggy things this afternoon.

i think that as a country we are all experiencing PTSD - post-traumatic stress disorder - from the towers. that's why so many Americans find it easier to go with the bush flow than to come to their senses. many felt utterly powerless as the fay of 9/11 went on, so it's no wonder, the country turned towards those who seemed to speak loudest, and with authority. i hope the cloak of fear is now dissipating, bcs without it gone, we remain lemmings.
