pbh over at the peace tree hit it out of the ballpark. many in america are out of touch with reality and don't put much thought into anything. take a look.
I do think that the propaganda for this war regime has been strong and repeated over and over. I also think a lot more people are waking up and realizing it's a scam. 51% of Americans now call for Impeachment!
It's true to a large extent. Most everyone is too wrapped up in their own little worlds...too busy to consider or care. Apathy is definitely on the rise.
It's the Bu$hCo three bubble strategy. The first is around Bush himself, and effectively keeps any contradictory thoughts out of his head. The second, around his staff, increases the effectiveness of the first, and makes sure that policy stays the course.
The third bubble is around the American public. As long as they never realize how different the news is on CBC or BBC as compared to FOX, CNN and MSNBC, a goodly number of them will accept the most egregious Bu$hCo crimes as 'business as usual.'

It's been a long time since truer words have been spoken!
Americans are sound bite addicts, and that's all.

That's about it. However, I think most people just feel hopeless and/or intimidated to change their world.
Excellent post...thanks for the pointer.
