overview and opinion i have read about the recent news that the justice department fired 8 attorneys for political reasons. we should be asking ourselves- are we going to let this happen? this complete government takeover by the executive branch. the neo cons want nothing less than a 'unitary executive branch' which in my opinion is just a fancy way of saying dictatorship. this phrase dresses it up and makes it appear to the slow witted as if we still have a democratic republic.

Hi betmo,
You'd think in a country as big as the US it'd be hard to set up a dictatorship ...
but over the pond on this side, we've known it is true all along.
You can change a 'government' but you still have the 'lords' and the judges of old, (even the 'new' ones play by the old rules), the same bankers, the same Generals, the same 'Executive' ...
And the US has the nerve to presume to install democracy in Iraq. Of course democracy in the eyes of neocons is a neocon executive.
Would you believe conservatives here were 'saddened' by the passing of Pinnochet - that dear murderer, dictator and such a close friend of Thatcher.
And Blair (PM and leader of the Labour Party or New Labour) is a self-professed neocon Thatcherite
Despite opposition from his own ranks, Blair managed to get approval for funding to upgrade Trident thanks to the conservative vote.
Mind you he got approval to invade Iraq thanks to the conservative vote
He really is the best leader the conservative party 'never' had. lol
The winds of change are blowing and I hope it flattens the neocons.
Those winds will kick him in the bootie.
It's just a matter of when.
democrats are no different
