open thread commentary
another end to another week. it has rained here for about that long and i am really beginning to dislike rain. we had flashflooding and streets underwater and a state of emergency for at least 3 counties. this is november- shouldn't it be colder and the precipitation be snow flurries? hmmmm.... couldn't be global warming. :) anyhoo- i was thinking that since this is the week before thanksgiving- perhaps i should open things up to talk about that. i don't follow the religious implications of the holiday- puritans and all- but i do have plenty to be thankful for. my husband and i have a warm home; a new sink pipe he replaced- so we have water :); more than enough food, and family and friends that love us. that right there is enough to be thankful for. i am also thankful for people of integrity who stand up to people who are not; thankful for people who reach out to people in need without a thought of a tax break or pat on the back; i am thankful for folks who look at other people as fellow humans- regardless of race, ethnic background, mental health state, or income level. i could go on and on- what is thanksgiving to you? what are you thankful for?

I also have many many things to be thankful for. But besides my Grandchildren and daughters, my lovely wife Barb and many friends, my health and ability to stand upright after two open heart surgeries and food to eat and a warm home, I am thankful for your friendship Betmo. You're a gem amongst rocks.

I appreciate Karl Rove for "dropping the ball". I don't think we'll have to worry about him until the McCain campaign of 2008.
I am thankful for my wife's tolerance of my incompentance, my oldest daughter of hear curiosity, my three old for her tenacity and my premie son for being here. And for freedoms we never take for granted.
no; not global warming... I heard the republicans say just the other day that the atomic testings heard and felt around the world were actually improving our dna and making us smarter. ;-)
I'm thankful for my wife and kids, for not wanting for much, and for all of you great like-minded folks that I've met through blogging!
