update
we are fine but confined to our home. binghamton is 25 feet flood level and is expected to crest tonite. don't have pictures yet- just news video at this point. interstate 88 had a 2 fatalities and is closed as a whole section of roadway washed away and 2 truck drivers got washed away. parts of interstate 81 is closed and whole communities are wiped out. it's pretty bad. my mother is following it closely as we lived through the flood of 1971 in this area. i was not even a year old and my parents lost everything that they had. it is awful. we are still under a state of emergency. tioga county has closed all traffic due to roads being flooded. we have it rough because binghamton is at the confluence of the susquehanna and chenango rivers. the pictures are incredible. this is a major flood. houses have been washed away. ironically, we have to conserve water- as with the flooding it effects the clean water pressure and availability. thousands of people are in shelters. we obviously haven't lost power as yet. as i get more info- i will update.

Fingers and toes crossed for ya.
please stay dry ... my parents are dodging the flood areas so that is good ... although they say the beltway is just insane ...
as for the sick thing ... my tonsils have been swollen for who knows how long now ... i went in for a second oppinion and the doctor was very pro active (seeings how the last dr i saw told me to just deal with it) ... bad news is that the medicine doesnt seem to be working too well ... i have a follow up on friday though ...
take care and good luck on your arc ...
Glad to hear that you are ok Betmo.
You got me worried for a min . I was trying to monitor Gaza and Broome county at the same time.
Being a typical male , I don't multi task well :-) So take care of yourself (and you're family)
We will all be thinking of you
Peace
Glad to hear you are OK!
HEY! They just showed Bing on cnn. Then Wilkes Barre. Looks terrible.
When Agnes hit, we kids(I was 10) thought it was great fun.
Oh to be young and ignorant again......
Peace.
yes- it is terrible here. the water is spilling over the flood wall and in parts there are cracks where water is coming through- but they are holding. riverside drive and front st. are totally closed and it is less than 10 minutes from where i live. we are high and dry for now and ok. my husband and i took a walk around our neighborhood earlier today to enjoy the beautiful summer day- sunshine, blue skies and a nice breeze. less than 10 minutes from my house over 2,000 people have been evacuated to area shelters. it is a bit bizarre- and so we made strawberry ice cream. came out good. :) away from taking a lighter moment- this is going to be devastating for the area which is already a depressed place. pataki came and took a tour and did the usual political hooha- but i doubt that we will get any better aid than the katrina victims.
you can go online to wbng tv online- channel 12 news- cbs for our area to get a current view.
actually, this is a better site
