women's rights?

this is what happens when hardline religion dictates lives. in this case it is islam but it could just as easily be any religion or offshoots or religions. for some reason unknown to me, it is always women who pay the ultimate price in any of these goddamned religions. enough is enough.

The book Princess is a very good book about how women in the Arab world have very few rights. The author got the views and life story from a member of the royal Saudi family. One of the main points is how there is a very fine line between rape and adultery. Some women who are raped are killed by their families because they are a disgrace. As if they haven't been through enough.

extremely sad. I don't remember that particular incident. I found it horrible how her brother and his friend were buying girls and raping them knowing full well that they would probably be killed for not being virgins. And what's horrible on top of that was that the mother's were so poor they had to sell their own daughters. and when the women drove for the first time and the majority of them were killed, that was horrible too. what a world we live in.
