mini rant
along with the previous mega rant- i want to ask- what kind of values are we teaching(if any)to our children? i saw this article and i was disgusted. i guess i shouldn't be surprised- my friend's children have semi formal dances at school that are on par with what i had at my senior prom. we really are a nation who has more money than common sense.

Wait..which part of the article disgusted you? The amount of $$ kids spend for prom, or the fact that schools are cancelling them?
the fact that parents are coughing up money for this crap without a second thought. kids will take a yard if you give them an inch. the folks whose knickers are in a twist are the same parents who throw keggers for their underage kids for graduation. i would think that they would have more respect for their children than to rent hotel rooms, etc. where is the teaching of the value of money and reaching maturity milestones? sorry. it was a mini-rant inside of a mini-rant.
