secession could be an answer

no offense to any 'normals' out there in the midwest- but i think that that part of the country should be bombed off of the map. the stuff that regularly comes out of there is rife with bigotry, ignorance and intolerance. maybe a better solution would be to round up all of the bigots and bomb them. i would be willing to give up my wheat bread and corn flakes if it meant that stupidity and short sightedness wasn't the rule of the day. it's embarrassing.

Okay, you were just hoping I'd respond to this, huh?

i was hoping that you would chime in with your point of view. i would welcome an authentic opinion from that neck of the woods. why does the gop target you all anyway?

Well, I am originally from Minnesota, and they don't come near us...the other Midwestern states..well, that's another story..

Well, that is until I read your informative article on bigotry in Minneapolis that is...

it just seems of late that there are a lot of really ultra ultra conservative things going on in that neck of the woods- that are really curtailing civil rights. this is just the most recent. there was the anti abortion legislation in s. dakota also. whether or not you agree with abortion, it is still curtailing civil liberties- as is the gay marriage ban. i just don't understand why these folks want to go backwards instead of forwards.

Finally someone who understands! Where is Tom Daschle when you need him?

Of course, why would Tom Daschle, a Democrat, even understand this issue anyway? I've been checking out your friend's blogs, and I am impressed with the abortion comments....

which friends? which comments? we call the dems who think they are repubs- republicrats. there seems to be a plethora of those these days. leiberman jumps to mind. i think that people should be honest and fair- and not try to force their beliefs on others. i put out my opinions and people can agree or not- and read on or not. that's why i have such a problem with the midwest- they seem to be trying to legislate morality. you can't force that on people in a society. it isn't a tangible thing.

I've been called a closet Republican---and it really pissed me off...

are you a closet repub- or more of a centrist independent? i,too, have some conservative views- not enough to identify with the party. i definitely pull for the underdog but not a welfare state. i see that you most likely meant my simplicity buddy. i only agree with her partially. i would rather have some contraceptives now and working on better, safer ones ongoing. i don't want children but i am a married woman and i haven't gone through menopause- so i suppose i am fertile. never put it to the test and don't plan on it. since i like a nice roll in the hay once in awhile- contraceptives. i do understand her point(somewhat)though. this is still a very patriarchal society and men are still the outward dominant force.
