weeping jesus on the cross!

i have a difficult time understanding how adults can be believers in christianity- or any religion for that matter. even though i went to church periodically when i was younger, once i reached 'the age of understanding', i questioned. the fact that these folks believe in the bible as the word of god- and that it is unchanging and blah, blah, blah makes me laugh. between 'jesus the egyptian' by richard a. gabriel and 'the mythmaker: paul and the invention of christianity' by hyam maccoby- and being a history buff, there is no way i could ever be a believer again. men create religions in order to make sense out of their environment. we have science for that now. the adherents to the world religions are simply lazy these days and it's really all about power.

You know I agree with this post 100 percent. We live in 2008, OK? Stop using an archaic fiction book to raise your children!

My sister is trying to raise her youngest daughter with all that "Christian homeschooling" nonsense. But my niece is too smart to fall for it.
