happy eostre

"but i do believe that the radical christian right is a sworn and potent enemy of the open society. its ideology bears within it the tenets of a christian fascism. in the event of a crisis, in the event of another catastrophic terrorist attack, an economic meltdown or huge environmental disaster, the movement stands poised to manipulate fear and chaos ruthlessly and reshape america in ways that have not been seen since the nation's founding. all americans-not only those of faith- who care about our open society must learn to speak about this movement with new vocabulary, to give up passivity, to challenge aggressively this movement's deluded appropriation of christianity and to do everything possible to defend tolerance."

Fascism is inseparable from Christianity. Mussolini himself laid down the definition, and it has been followed faithfully (no pun intended) since then.

The 'christians' of which you speak are charlatans. These are self-absorbed, lieing, cheating, scoundrels who only use the 'christian' label for their own advancement. Actions speak louder than words.

Christian, as signified by the suffix 'ian', means, belonging to; from; little; or like, the root: Christ. Even a cursory reading of the New Testament will show the facsade these people have donned.

You can call them christo-fascists or hypocrites, but I would refer to them as neo-christians. They have hijacked the Christian faith much in the same way the neo-conservatives have taken over the conservative movement.

Good WILL triumph over evil, it's only a question if we will live long enough to witness it.

Happy Easter, Betmo, I pray we are allowed to see many more.

I call on all the Non-Charlatan christians to refute the charlatan christians. Actually, I've been calling for some time now, with no noticeable answer to the call...

A majority of the christians in America ARE the charlatan variety. And apparently it is a Large variety.
