I was politically involved before he was shot. He just organized the "Poor People's Campaign," He was going away from nonviolence as a principle.
I would like to celebrate this day in peace.
The neocons would never permit another Martin Luther King to come forward.
It's plain to see why he had to be taken out. Too bad another like him hasn't come along, we need it.

I was at home with four toddlers at the time of his, and the Kennedy assassinations. It was a terrible period for our nation. I thought the country might come unraveled.
Dr. King was one of my heroes at the time, for his courage, for his will, for his opposition to the war, and for his voice.
I hope that the path MLK paved for Barack Obama gives this inspirational young candidate an experience relatively free from the corrosive racism of the sixties.

I have been to the mountaintop too and will always be there and there is nothing period Bush can do to change that.
I still wonder if most Americans truly understand what a great visionary he was.
