where one door opens...

another one closes. the ny times has made its archives open to the public. you can now see articles about lincoln's assassination or custer's last stand- or riveting photographs of history- some donated to the ny times from private people. my buddy and i tooled around for a few minutes last night- and i tell you- history jumped off the screen at you. check it out.

on the flip side, my buddy in florida- who has been keeping me updated on 'tasergate'- sent me this gem from a university of florida law professor. he basically says that the fourth amendment is toast. so- i will let you see for yourself how much of the constitution actually exists.

Not only has the Times opened up it's past, it's also un-doing the notorious 'times select' section - so us plebian can actually read gail collins and maureen dowd without paying.
