not still sleeping...

i have spent the better part of the day upgrading my page at the sirens forum and cleaning out my links on magnolia. i have decided to shift my focus a bit in the content of blogging because, quite frankly, i think my outrage has given way to a more defensive posture. i am not giving up but rather digging in for the long haul. we have many issues facing us- as a nation and as a planet- and the time for white hot anger is over. we need to concentrate on getting decent people elected-- if we can-- and hunkering down. forewarned is forearmed and the writing is on the wall folks (to borrow from nebuchadnezzer). police and federal agents around the country have started to flex their patriot act given muscle and are rounding folks up- not just illegal immigrants but protesters and the like. we get small victories but it is going to take a whole lot more than one here or one there to win the war. so- work on preparing and resisting. they may take our country- but they can't take our hearts and our minds. sow the seeds of dissidence for posterity. it may be up to them if we don't succeed. we cannot remain idealistic when it comes to fighting against totalitarianism and we can't pretend that we can go about our lives as usual and things will work out. but- we have to be smart. protect yourselves and your families- and lie with the best of them if you have to. i, for one, am practicing my 'praise jesus' and 'amens.'

Sometimes you have to regroup for the bigger challenge ahead.

Arm yourself with truth that can not be denied. Arm yourself with the proof of their lies.

Don't fight lies with lies. Don't fight propaganda with propaganda. Don't use the same scumbag tactics they do, or you only become another kind of scumbag.

The fight will be won or lost in Congress, where the laws we live by are made. So yes, the fight is to change the voting math in Congress.

That may be the single one thing most important to prepare. There's some damn hard sledding ahead, and if we aren't ready for it, we're cooked before we start.

we cannot remain idealistic
That is the one thing that drives me to drinking V8!:) I know we need ideals for Democracy to live, but first, we have to get those without ideals, the hell out of there, and that is not going to be a pretty job! Put plainly, that means get right in the sewer with them, and throw one more handful of shit back, than they throw at us. THEN, we'll worry about the ideals.

LOL!! Forget it!:) Unless you've "been one", you'll never "be one." Be thankful for that. Otherwise, you'd be as goofy as I am.:)

if i could be half as goofy dan- i would be in great company :)

larry- yep. i am trying not to envision too much because i tend to be a pessimist. i like to think realist but i doubt that that is what i am 'labeled.'

time- regressive is as regressive does. i like to think of myself as a progressive and i guess i have enough residual idealism left to hope that more people wake up and run towards the light. keeping my fingers crossed.

That is EXCELLENT betmo!

They have taken the country. Unbelievably with only 25% of the people supporting their own slavery. And I always thought 75% was a lot more than 25%. Silly me.

I agree....to stay in for the Long Haul one needs a strategy....one that will give strength and help one last...it is at this point like runnning a marathon...don't want to flame out at mile 14...or even 22 with the end in site....good for you...and you are right...it is time to be Smart...wise...

great post....

Beautiful, betmo! Part of the reason for my recent hiatus has been the difficulty in sustaining the outrage (necessary) without poisoning my spirit. Maintaining the soul of a revolutionary while keeping hope alive is imperative. I'm working on it. I'll try to get by SCforums soon. Much love....
