working on poetry

i took some time to write a choka- check out poets for peace or betmo's corner for the links to find out what the hell i am talking about :) as judy garland sang, "when all the world is a hopeless jumble and the raindrops tumble all around- heaven opens a magic lane. when all the clouds darken up the skyway there's a rainbow highway to be found- leading from your window pane. to a place behind the sun- just a step beyond the rain."

well, my 'somewhere over the rainbow' is betmo's corner and writing haiku and longer chokas. so- when i get sad or frustrated or overwhelmed, i have to step back and start cherishing the beauty in life- in spite of the ugly. i don't consider myself an artist but i do feel that it is an artist's responsibility to have something to say. i hope that i can inspire the true artists to get involved in the fight for peace and the fight to change our way of life. not save it. i am kicking around open threads right now- and no, it isn't meant to be a threat :)
