memorial day

Thanks for the moving images b. And thanbks for the other post. Today is a good day to reflect on life, why we are here, and what we are celebrating. I think we shoudl do it more than once a year.

I just saw an article saying Bush may finally start to pull troops out of Iraq next year. This is just in time for the elections of course and after he got his way with the latest spending bill. Anything that gets our troops out of there sooner is good news to me. So many have died already. Too many have died already.

I hope you have a good holiday and have time to relax as well as reflect. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts with us.

Let's not forget the nearly 600,000 Iraqis that have been killed in this war so far, not to count the millions made homeless, traumatized by war, and others who will suffer for years to come!

bz- i didn't- but memorial day in america is specific to the troops killed in action. at least, that's what the history of the holiday says. americans do pretty much what they want- including bbqs and white sales.
