time off
well, the visit with the inlaws went pretty fast. had fun. we went and played trivia at a local pub and came in second. luckily, we made up points on the bonus question- how many syllables does japanese haiku have? :) so the hubby and i decided to take some time for us this weekend since he works so much and we usually don't see much of each other. we have done a whole lotta nothing. next week- back into the fray. the folks upstairs are moving out- phew!- so i will have that to clean and my own fall cleaning to do. but-- i will be back into the posting come monday- and we will continue our fight for freedom and america. gwb has been a bit testy and a bit of a cranky pants lately during press conferences and interviews. let's keep up the pressure on the congress and the corporate sponsors- and i think that we can take this country back to where it needs to be- home of the free. constitution monday is right around the corner!

does this constitute posting on my site? loyal readers- take a look at jovial cynic's site- new protest- for his article and banner dedicated to the ala. this organization is out there encouraging people to read so-called bannable books. books that may not be deemed family friendly or politically correct. take a peek and read some books!

"Constitution Day" is actually this Sunday, but it will be celebrated on Monday. It was created in 2004, and it also means that all public school students get educated on the topic. I hope they pay attention.
(a) Designation. - September 17 is Citizenship Day.
(b) Purpose. - Citizenship Day commemorates the formation and
signing on September 17, 1787, of the Constitution and recognizes
all who, by coming of age or by naturalization, have become
citizens.
(c) Proclamation. - The President may issue each year a
proclamation calling on United States Government officials to
display the flag of the United States on all Government buildings
on Citizenship Day and inviting the people of the United States to
observe Citizenship Day, in schools and churches, or other suitable
places, with appropriate ceremonies.
(d) State and Local Observances. - The civil and educational
authorities of States, counties, cities, and towns are urged to
make plans for the proper observance of Citizenship Day and for the
complete instruction of citizens in their responsibilities and
opportunities as citizens of the United States and of the State and
locality in which they reside.
wait...constitution day...does this mean I get a day off. j/k. hope you're getting yourself all relaxed, that's something I needa do sometime soon.

Rosie O'Donnell had a good quote about gwb last week. I will have to find it. Not that I am a huge Rosie fan--I think she is all right--but the quote was really good.
