thought for tuesday

to build may have to be the slow and laborious task of years. to destroy can be the thoughtless act of a single day.

Oh yes. Sadly true. I think of the times I have stuck my foot in my mouth and made a mess of things.

The tragedy of the Middle East is a direct result of Bushco's policies. If Americanizing the region is to destroy it, he's succeeded.

That is the real tragedy alongside the lives lost. You realise the Israelis use the same ratio of deaths as the romans & even nazis did. 10-1 ten of them killed for every one of us.
But the destruction is deliberate to foment hatred, destroy economy and create instability. If they just wanted to kill 600 people they could have just used One machine gun. But they wanted to display Military might with the implicity support of Coni & Bush, and that other chap who no longer even merits the title poodle, but 'poodle poo' yes grinning Blair.

The neocon hegemony dream is at full throttle my friends... Destruction is the path and it shall beget itself.

SOOOOO true! If only people would think before wreaking havoc. If only we could imagine how the other side feels and show compassion. If only those who claim to know God would "Do unto others as they would have done unto themselves." My heart is weary of seeing devastation.

One of the greatest sorrows in this life is that we invest much and reap so little. Spend money, exert energy and expend time on a crop that looks promising and in a storm will come wipe it out or drought will steal away your crops' potential.

Build a country, a way of life. Have a family, raise a little farm, find a little happiness, then flee it all & become refugees because of war. Tragically, this happens to families everyday...

I long for the time when this will end...

the sad part is- it isn't going to end. you see it isn't part of the plan. the plan for us is not democracy in the middle east and not democracy here in america. you can't think that we will be maintaining our democracy with secret prisons and american prison camps here. or the blanket of homeland security and the patriot act turning our police departments into gestapo. the military and intelligence agencies all under the control of the military and rumsfeld- why? why is this government grabbing power and centralizing everything? where is all of the missing money? why are there national guard troops at our borders?

all you have to do is scratch a bit beneath the surface to see. most don't want to. most will not believe that this will come to pass- others believe that we can fight it. these people have been planning for years and things are moving together quickly. i predict 2008 is going to be a year that changes the world as we know it. prepare for the worst and you may be adequately prepared.

I hear what you're saying, Betmo. Guess I'm a little more optimistic as to our future.

Yes, conflict will always be until the end of the age. I do think most Americans are fed up with the war & our current admin. and the next elections may hold a better future for us.

There will always be curruption in government as long as humans are in charge, but I'm still hopeing that things can & will be better... :o)
