They are the modern day Israeli version of the draft protesters of Vietnam era US.
Israel has every adult at 18 (with some exceptions) server 2 years (i think?) in the military.
They are protesting to support those conscripts that refuse to serve over the 1967 Israeli border, or refuse to serve at all (under the premise of protesting Israeli occupation).
Some are very principled, some are just trying to avoid military service.
