at the risk of sounding 'insensitive,' i have to say that after 5 years- let's move on. september 11, 2001 was a wake-up call for many americans as it was the first time in our modern history that our mainland was attacked by outsiders( the war of 1812 is really not that recent for most of us). i have to say- ok let's get over it. it was a terrible tradgedy, but why is our tradgedy any worse than the british who were bombed continuously by the ira; or the israelis who were bombed by hamas; or any number of other countries around the globe who are plagued by terrorists. why is this tradgedy any worse than the oklahoma city bombing in 1995? most of the country has forgotten- or at least gotten over that.
for the most part, i think that most people have moved on- even the families of those lost have moved forward with their lives. it seems that the only ones who haven't are the neocons- who exploit the war on terror at every turn- and the media- who make movies about flight 93 it almost seems weekly. yes, those people are heros and gave their lives to save others. i feel that they should be honored. i am sure that they would not want their lives used as fodder for other's profit or gains. i am sure they would want us to 'roll' on.
