proud to be an american...

with props to the late lee greenwood- i came across this gem in the news. apparently, the gas prices in this country are not going to cause the suv lovin' nation to slow down on the travel plans this weekend. heck no we aren't going to let something pesky like the war on terror keep us off the nation's highways and byways. we are committed to picnics and bbqs because we have to keep the american tradition of memorial weekend alive. cemetary? why would you go to a cemetary?

staying at home this weekend. except for sunday- when my husband's friends(in their infinite wisdom) decided to get married on the sunday of memorial weekend.

strangely enough I'm going to a wedding on Sunday too. Except for that, I'm either staying home or taking public transportation. I don't have an SUV, but the prices are still way to high.

Thanks for remembering the Cemetary part. The list of places that require a visit grow as I age. I'm always glad to see this weekend pass. Even tho the BBQ's are nice, and the friendships wonderful, underneath it all is the pain....(:
