huh

who would have thought? young white female teachers are quitting the profession in droves. the one young lady featured in the article said that she quit due to bureaucracy and low salary. if she couldn't afford to be a teacher- how does she afford to be a stay-at-home mother of 3? snarky, yes, but come on. most teachers today have their masters degree? in what? education. what does that mean? why isn't there more effort being made to recruit the so-called 'minority' population into education- as the 'minority' populations are the fastest growing populations in this country? why can't we cut through the bureaucracy and teaching 'education' instead of actual subjects to make the job a calling instead of a profession? especially since the teachers left are either older or poor quality.

on a related note, sat scores have dropped significantly recently but classwork scores, etc. have remained the same. oh my god! must be something wrong with the kids. couldn't possibly mean that the test is meaningless as a predictor of how well a student actually does in school. no. actually, it must be because the kids are tired. maybe that they are just tired of taking tests.
