faith versus fiction

ok- for the 800th time i will be writing about christians versus the da vinci code. for some reason unknown to me, the catholics, especially, have their panties in a bunch about this novel and now the movie. now, i guess i could see them getting upset at the movie- tom hanks wasn't who i envisioned when i read the book. ok- so the casting was wrong. i am getting the feeling that the calls for boycotts and litigation isn't about hanks. i can't wrap my mind around the reaction to- stay with me now- A WORK OF FICTION. that's right- dan brown wrote a work of fiction. it was adequate reading material and it was a quick read. i was entertained- which i think was brown's plan all along. anyhoo- my thought on the whole thing is simple: if your belief and faith in your religion is strong- why should a movie or book be such a threat? if you need to legislate and control what everyone else on the planet watches or enjoys as entertainment in order to 1) remove temptation to yourself or 2) remove a challenge to your religion- then i seriously think you need to rethink your position. perhaps you should consider the fact that religion is just far fetched instead of a leap of faith. maybe the truth is that you know that christianity is based on lies and half truths instead of fact.

thank you for saying that about this movie ... and here i thought i was the only one wondering what the big deal was ... if anything ... i thought alot of people would be wanting to research and inform themselves about the religion ...

sometimes i wish i could have my own personal writer to just write my ideas down and organize them ... but that might take the fun out of this process ....

even dan brown had a screenwriter for the movie. depending on what you are thinking- it might not be a bad idea to run your ideas by someone you trust- and have them help you sort things out. many people collaborate to make their ideas even better.
