go neil young!
neil young has put out a protest album. he is joining a small but growing number of musicians who are brave enough and civic minded enough to speak out. my question is- where are all the big name rappers and hip hop artists? if you aren't against the iraq war- how about donating an album to katrina victims? the entire gulf coast is still reeling and now has to give back any government money they may have gotten because the republicans want to give out more tax breaks to the oil companies. i realize many of the rap and hip hop stars came from nothing- what about the basic human compassion to remember the little people who got you where you are today?

Pink also did a recent antiwar song that is surprisingly good. All the rest, they are after the $$$$.
Poor deluded souls...money!
i love pink!
Talking about the artists doing more to donate for hurricane relief... the Gulf Coast and Florida are still reeling and another bad hurricane season is 4-5 weeks away. Levees not anywhere close to being fixed in New Orleans, and people still living in FEMA trailers. The U.S. can send billions of dollars overseas to help other countries with their disasters, but can't help their own people. It's a cryin' shame! A north-central Florida man after the '04 hurricane season had damage to his home. He said FEMA's interest rate was so high that his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids would still be paying on it long after he's gone. He opted to live in his damaged home and fix it up bit by bit so he could better afford it. Can't depend on the government! I feel like if everyone in the country gave ONE dollar (without Uncle Sam getting a cut), we could do so much to help each other out in these situations. But that's not the way it is.
it's unfortuanate. my question is- where did all of the red cross money go? many donated to private organizations to help the gulf coast but where did the millions to the red cross go?
