google reader roundup

i will attempt to make full posts on other stuff in the reader- i still have much to read. my typical pattern is to scan the new stuff and mark it to read for later- and well, later never comes. so, here are a few older links- january through recent- the info is valid though :)

visionary outrage: piercing the blue smoke on the potomac- chris floyd mixes it up with words

glenn greenwald and a real discussion on israel and american policy

is the bush family still actively engaged in pulling strings in dc? obama should worry

world sees israel as a 'monster' regarding the gaza genocide

why is jimmy carter vilified by right wingers who view him as anti semitic over his criticisms of israel?

thanks to all who kindly invited me to join facebook as a friend. i do appreciate it. however, you won't see me over there anytime soon. aside from being a government database treasure trove- they are offering up users as marketing tools for corporates. no thanks.

Good call, bet! Wish I'd had the brains to do the same over a year ago. Haven't logged on for over two months and don't intend to. Doesn't matter if you delete your account, the info is still all there for anyone with the knowhow to access.

Here's a little eye-opener for many users:
BBC Click Online.

Everybody should check the "event viewer" under "computer management" in the control panel on a PC regularly, just to see what their computers may be up to without their knowledge. It's relatively easy when you know where to look. The best line of defense is to use regularly or automatically updated, highly rated anti-virus and anti-malware (at least one if not two). No getting around it folks, the best is something you'll have to pay for.

Sorry for spamming your comments, bet, but the more I can help out those who may not realize just how common and dangerous this problem is, the better. Facebook apps are some of the worst at present for infecting machines.
