more truth

frank rich- what we don't know will hurt us

"No one knows, of course, but a bigger question may be whether we really want to know. One of the most persistent cultural tics of the early 21st century is Americans’ reluctance to absorb, let alone prepare for, bad news. We are plugged into more information sources than anyone could have imagined even 15 years ago. The cruel ambush of 9/11 supposedly “changed everything,” slapping us back to reality. Yet we are constantly shocked, shocked by the foreseeable. Obama’s toughest political problem may not be coping with the increasingly marginalized G.O.P. but with an America-in-denial that must hear warning signs repeatedly, for months and sometimes years, before believing the wolf is actually at the door."

I voted yes on your Blog roll question but you do good without it!

Most people here believe what they see on TV or are told by politicians which means they know nothing and it is hurting all of us!

The disease of apathy, which eats from within, will eventually render your question moot.

America and Americans have to relearn HOW to care!

It's a shame, but many people are unteachable, and most of those who are teachable are slow learners.

We are soooooooo screwed.

The rising tides of unemployment and bankruptcies and the falling prices of homes, share prices and commercial properties is moving at a speed that seeems to increase with each set of surveys.
The reality might reach a few more sheeple when the job losses and balance sheets for February are released, which will probably co-incide with:
"Oh look, everybody, Madonna got a new frock, Obama got a cute little puppy, and Osama sent us a postcard from the mountains..."

The rest of the world is in an economic tailspin. Asia and Europe are choking, with Canada in hot pursuit, and the Middle East is feeling the pinch. To listen to many Americans talk, you'd think it was purely a U.S. issue and they're the only ones suffering. This attitude rubs my old nerves raw, as well as trying my patience and sympathy.:( Sigh....
