my garden is going to get so eaten

these pics were taken last summer and fall after we moved in. there is a bunny warren? is that what you call them? that lives in the trees in my backyard. the crab apple tree is across the street from me in the front. hubby was surprised and excited to try out the new digital camera by taking pics of the deer eating the crab apples. in fact, a few weeks ago as i came home, a herd of deer crossed in front of my car- i remember initially thinking that those were awful big dogs (they weren't very big deer). did i mention the squirrels?

greeeaaattt, you got bunnies. as bad as my son's damn chickens. raised beds with chicken wire tents help a little, as long as they can't dig under too easily.

yes, i think 'bunny warren' is correct - and you ARE going to get so eaten. don't know where you live, but your local garden center should know some good animal resistent plants................and i agree with fjb;s comment. usually best to set the tents at least 6 - 9" into the soil.

thnx for your comments on my place.

We deforest their habitats so much that they're now trespassing our territories.

yep- i know. and we have paved over much of our arable land. a movement has started in suburbia where neighbors and community groups are starting garden plots. we have so much lawn that we just mow and don't use. every little bit helps- we can compost and rain catch and grow our own food. and i don't mind sharing a bit with the wee and not so wee animals. :) i am more concerned with the japanese beetles.
