thanks for the gift

i have to say a hearty "thanks" to my buddy speedoman- i mean spadoman :) for sending me snow this morning. he had more than enough for himself and his lovely wife- so he passed it along to me :) he made up for it by sending me some coffee too- over on the sidebar- so i could have my morning cuppa without fail. he's that kind :) so, hubby and i are nursing colds- i say that because we don't want to get back into the mess that is our apartment- so i guess we are glad that we are sick this time. except now we have to shovel :)

as for continuing the fight, i see no purpose. i will certainly continue to post and write, but there isn't any fight left in me. my buddy dan once said to me that i wanted the whole world to shut down and people to instantly change their way of life to combat all of the world's evils- i am paraphrasing. and that's basically true. it isn't feasible but it's true. i am the type of person who figures that a problem needs a solution- not a band aid to cover the gaping wound while folks go on living their lives. and that won't happen. it's too much to ask- and it isn't realistic. and i know enough about human nature to know that folks are basically self centered when it comes to their own lives- myself included. we fear change and we, here in the west, enjoy our cushy lives. i do. so- i decided that this is the life that was given to me by fate- and i have to live it. i will do so with as much honesty and integrity as i can- but also realistically. our entire culture and being is made of plywood these days. i see no reason for me to fall through the floor with the rest. selfish? perhaps- but it is no less selfish than any other american in this culture. even folks who are well intentioned are americans with the 'we're special' ingrained in them. we all do. anyhoo- i will not be a martyr to the cause and i won't burn myself out for no reason. i can't do anything more than i have been- and there's no reason i should. there are too many folks out there in a state of denial over what is really happening and they continue to live their lives with impunity and in the same fashion as always. my fluorescent light bulb isn't going to change that.

so, i am off to curl up with my box of paper tissues and a cuppa- and gear up for shoveling later. enjoy!

I hate snow and I hate winter but cannot do anything about either one, except live with them.

Its really important to rest, my dear ones, rest , withdrawn , retreat, replenish, No our lightbulbs won't change the world. I would venture to say this and i hope it comes to pass, that - as more and more people learn the truth, through reading BOOKs like Shock Doctrine, and the blogs. That we will know where to channel our energy and resources. We will support the ACLU, the Center for Constitutional rights..and we will support our very smart energetic and passionate youth. Really bringing these people to justice is something that must happen even if it takes yrs. Look at Pinochet..he finally got punishment..did it fit his crimes NO, but, the truth came out.

but bottom line - we all need to rest at times. It beats despair. And if we do despair..thats OK, we will rejuvinate. we will. yep Hell if one has not despaired over the last 7 yrs at least 7 times once per yr, ..one might suggest that they are not paying attention.
