politics, american style

i haven't posted much about politics lately- mostly due to my cynical attitude that human nature will be human nature and it sure hasn't changed much since humans allegedly evolved...but i feel a wee more optimistic these days for a variety of reasons...more people are 'getting it'- not simply about politics but about the world we are living in today...

i up tidbits of info around the intertubes and more folks are gardening, recycling, reducing and reusing...more folks take global climate change as fact and are working within their communities and states to change it...more folks are calling the right wing out on their lies and bullshit and even though the squeaky wheel of rhetoric is the only one heard...people are taking on people in their own lives and calling foul...more folks realize that conservatism and unregulated capitalism has ruined america and indeed, the entire planet...

more folks see that the right is trying to create global feudalism and they realize that they are not part of the 'haves'...

i could certainly post like i used to- refuting and documenting the craziness and lies point by point...but i don't believe i need to...more folks are fact checking and sharing than ever before and much quicker and more efficiently than i ever could...

my life these days consists of worrying about my economic future and the uncertainty of hubby's job- much like everyone else...and taking care of old people...not an easy task with the mess the rethugs have made of medicare and their pseudo-privatizing and mandatory drug plans....it's a nightmare along the lines of HMOs and private insurance red tape...getting old isn't easy in america....but you can rest assure i will have my ducks in a row...or not because i don't have offspring to leave a mess to...

anywhoo, gearing up for another year of old people issues and hopefully not conservative republican ones...
