life in my neck of the woods
this is reality for many here in the upstate new york area- my neck of the woods is out of the woods right now as far as water and what not...but the clean up begins...my family was lucky- our homes and lives are intact and i can go to work still and keep on keepin' on...which sort of makes the whole thing surreal...my life is the same but driving over to binghamton and seeing mud lines half way up the trees...well, it's weird...
reflections
i don't 'celebrate' or take part in the 'remembrances' of 9/11/01 and i never will. yep. sounds harsh but it isn't because i am callous or think less of the people who were killed. the whole 'ground zero' thing is a farce exploited by people who choose to rule from fear and want to keep that fearful seed planted firmly in the minds of their minions...we are special- we are under constant threat...
you'll excuse me if i laugh right out loud at the alleged 'terrorist threat' around the 9/11 events in new york city...i mean the real threat was upstate and it is called mother nature...i am surrounded by 30 feet of flood waters that are destroying the lives of thousands of my neighbors and i get to hear people piously intoning 'we will never forget'
whatever...they'll forget as soon as the next 'terrorist attack' happens...anyone ever hear about the oklahoma city bombing? the pan am flight 103 attack? nope...happened 15-20 years ago so it doesn't count anymore i guess....although we are in year 10 of the terrorist bullshit so i guess that's no excuse...
a nice lady wrote a fantastic piece that pretty much sums up my feelings on america and this whole shell of a country that we live in... my country died a long time ago but i didn't realize it fully until 9/11...i suppose that's what i remember each year around this time....

told ya so....
when the bloggers in my circle discussed any of this- we were branded all sorts of derogatory names...guess what?
We Told You So...
too bad it has taken the country to fall down completely for anyone on the right to have the balls to stand up publicly and lay it all out...the ones who came before Lofgren were skewered before they barely got to print....
