i debated

on whether to post this- but yeah, i am going to

going after relatives of dead folks to make a buck

"Dozens of specially trained agents work on the third floor of DCM Services here, calling up the dear departed’s next of kin and kindly asking if they want to settle the balance on a credit card or bank loan, or perhaps make that final utility bill or cellphone payment."

yeah- specially trained dicks.

on top of this one

"Fed Chairman Bernanke went to the Senate Budget Committee yesterday to testify. The Senators asked him at least four times, and in different ways, where he is burying the loot that is being shovelled his way. And, at least four times, he refused to answer."

and he doesn't have to because of the bailout shit that congress passed before the last election. talk about shortsighted for us- apparently, a windfall for some.

When my parents died, I thought for a while I was responsible for their debt, but when I talked to a lawyer I found out I was wrong.

Any contract between two people is voided when one party dies.

Tell them to go to hell.

When my youngest brother died of brain cancer, bill collectors descended like vultures after carrion, hounding my aged mother without mercy. Only then did the family realize how mentally unstable my brother had become during his latter life. He had not only maxed out all his credit cards but also credit cards he had obtained in my mother's name, and also made personal loans from friends and neighbors. The total was astronomical. Mother believed that an honest debt had to be honored and paid, including my brother's debt. Against family and legal advice, she made regular payments from her retirement pittance. Now at age 99, it was necessary to place her in a nursing home and my elder sister took over handling mother's finances. The collectors turned their attention to my widowed sister to hound her to death about our dead brother's debts. To our horror, we found that Sis (nearly 80 yrs of age)was paying those scoundrels. She thought it was necessary!

A friend had been stripped of his finances and resources during his wife's long battle against cancer.Bill collectors drove him crazy. As she was dying, the family gathered for the death watch. A collector called, pretending to be a friend of the family and the person who ansered the phone directed him to the hospital where the husband sat at his dying wife's side. The collector called the hospital room and began haranguing the distraught husband about his unpaid debts. Four days after the funeral, he blew his brains out, unable to deal with unbearable stress.

I agree with The Future Was Yesterday. Government and lawmakers have always catered to Business and protected their finances without regard to the working class.

A sickening account, Betmo! Then it's capitalism, a system where money is more important than respecting human values or emotions.

Take care!
