a big reason to step up for the election process

my buddy frederick lives not too far from me- roughly 45 minutes or so depending on traffic :) his congress critter is in a tight race with an unknown and we have all agonized over the close races- like this one and the one currently being waged in minnesota.

we shouldn't have to bite our nails and worry if our votes are going to count. doesn't that make everyone get angry? the rethugs spout so often about patriotism and love of country but they fought- and have been successfully fighting- a war against american democracy right here on our very soil for years. voter intimidation, voter suppression, voter purging, vote rigging, misinformation, etc. and we see it and carp about it every election season- and then forget about it until next election season and hope that the foxes in charge of the hen house will sweep up and take care of things.

we must act. we must become the virus inside of the corrupt system. we, the people, should be taking care of our own house- or we will find that we don't have one to worry about anymore.

"Growing up in Mississippi and North Carolina in the late 1950s and early 1960s, I have vivid memories of African-Americans hoping to participate in their first election being turned away at the polls, denied their most basic right to vote.

Little did I know that near fifty years later, in 2008, my daughter would similarly be prevented from voting."

"Show me what you've done, don't tell me what you're going to do,and shut up in the meanwhile" Should be our approach to every Republican. But they are smarter than us. They know we'll swallow a Politically Correct whale but choke on a morsel of truth, so they use the PC thing we're afraid to challenge - Patriotism. Somebody needed to stand up very publically and tell GWB he was a traitor, not a Patriot, and hold up our proof thru the shit storm sure to follow.

But that's impossible to do when The California Coward and Jew Liebermann are carrying water as fast as they can!

We can change this...but when and how are not clear. Your voice matters.

In the end, it matters who counts the votes, or how the votes are counted.
Jimmy Carter has a whole team that has a program with specific criteria for setting up and conducting fair voting processes. The US does not meet that criteria.
There are a few races still being counted-- Al Franken in MN, and an Oregon Senate seat took a few days after the elections to declare the winner. Happy to say Merkley (D) ousted Gordon Smith(R).
There were machines that were flipping votes for McCain, right before the voters eyes.
Poll workers shrugged & said they need to be recalibrated.
Ooops!
Not one vote should be flipped, and any apparatus that can do such a thing, needs to be replaced.
Im just so relieved our presidential election reflected majority vote- so overwhelmingly, that any tampering was overridden. But we've had too many close elections, and the count needs to be accurate & auditable.
