voice of doom and gloom

for the loyal faithful readers here- i hate to be the continuous voice of gloom and doom- but there isn't much hope left here in america. let's boil things down to their base levels-

our economy is over and taking the world down with it

our planet is dying and we will along with it

anything else is mere distraction. here's the deal- i would love to have the luxury of fighting against racism, misogyny, homophobia- i would love to give 2 shits about the election that is currently meaningless- i can't. it is distractionary. we haven't had a democratic republic for some time now- the death knell started in 2001 when bushco took office but they laid the groundwork for decades before. america is gone. what people need to concentrate on now aren't the lofty ideals that no longer exist- they need to concentrate on survival skills.

there are tent cities springing up around america and starting october 1- the army will have ground troops patrolling- not quite legally but who's counting- here on american soil. you can peek in my archives for the links- or google them. to all of the self important middle classers out there- get over yourselves. you who continue to believe that things will work out and who are embodied by the suv tailgating, water sipping, cell phone talking, designer clothes wearing irritants i run into almost daily. newsflash- your credit card will soon be worthless as will be your dollars. better learn to drink tap again.

this nation has been taken over by a coup d'etat of the greedy, wealthy upper crust- the ones who really run things. the politicians are bought and paid for- how do you think that the laws calling for deregulation of everything got passed? what got us into this mess is the fact that people weren't paying attention. they were pretending to be those wealthy elite by living beyond their means and attempting to emulate what they saw on robin leach. it's fine to want to work hard to get ahead- it's the cutting corners to keep up with the joneses that distracted people. it was encouraged by the corporates and one percenters in order to keep the rabble in tow.

so, now, the surburbanites are without a skill set to survive in the world of unbridled capitalism. they will be unable to go out and buy their eddie bauer camping gear and have no idea how to open a can of beans. i have a feeling that they will be coming to house near you- or your's- so be prepared to defend what you have against people who are used to getting what they want for free. just a thought.

Wow. This is powerful. Survival is right on. That's what I'm feeling about the election. Obama Or Else. If I'm honest, I have to really agree with most of what you say. So why do I cling to some hope? It's not even really hope - it's desperation. So I do what I do and try my best but it's a very dire situation.

Distraction is understating it. How much does the reality of the environment, poison, chemicals really getting to people? I was reading about chemicals in the infant formulas in China that are killing babies. You just want to weep.

not much i can do about the world economic failures or the continued assault on the planet. my family and i are working towards self sufficiency and being able to withdraw as much as possible from the system. we are working to make our homes more secure as well. i am not going into any great detail because the blog is public. feel free to email me for any details.

i can't worry about feeding and sheltering folks who aren't a part of my immediate family- selfish as that sounds- self preservation is key.

"i hate to be the continuous voice of gloom and doom"
But you do it SO well!:)

"our economy is over and taking the world down with it"
That depends on what economy you're talking about. There's two very distinct different ones: The Wall St. one, that Bush (and Democrats as well) are now pumping OUR cash into as we speak, then there's the economy of the couple that had two decent incomes, bought a house, played by all the rules, but their economy went to hell and they went from comfortable to homeless.

"i would love to give 2 shits about the election that is currently meaningless"
I find myself having rather distressing conversations with myself over my opinions on that subject, in the wee, dark hours of the morning......

"

Exactly! I find it interesting, in the way a falling building with people inside is interesting, that Bush and Congress can work out a plan to save "the economy" in a single weekend, but the people who want to be our President have been fighting over it for a year and a half, and are still fighting over what's best! ???????? The smell is not your cats. It's bullshit....(:

"what got us into this mess is the fact that people weren't paying attention. they were pretending to be those wealthy elite "
Whatever they were doing, you got the first part spot on. Lethargy has won more elections than anybody!
