well, in all fairness...

where was mccain going to find a republican running mate WITHOUT an ethics investigation? think that this is somehow connected to ted 'bridge to nowhere' stevens?

I do think this is going to backfire on McCain! I am sure there is more than just the Commissioner issue!
I hope Palin being so young and inexperienced next to a guy likely to keel any minute would turn off more voters than those gained because she is a woman! She does not have what it takes to be President no way!
I think she is ripe for the picking and even if it is only one debate Biden will eat her up. Bring on the debates!

I am glad that a woman was chosen. I think history certainly deserves and or needs a woman in high office, but this is nothing more than a degradation of the previous days historical moment. That and it is nothing less than cowardice from a man and his party who have nothing to run on but tit for tat and flat out lies. Palin, as I mentioned in a comment somewhere around the web, has found herself a victim of an act of political cowardice by a war hero. Her political career, after this fiasco, will likely be toast.
