christianophobia

recently, the vatican warned of growing 'christianophobia' around the world and declared that it needed to fought with the same zealotry as anti-semitism, etc. normally, i would agree. i am all about religious freedom as long as you don't infringe on mine. unfortunately, christians don't seem able to leave well enough alone. no, they feel compelled to force their faith on others with evangelizing and proselytizing and converting people- especially in third world countries. their aid comes with strings attached and let's face it, if i am starving, i will most likely sing hallelujah! until i have a full belly. you can force my behavior but you can't steal my mind.

anyhoo- i thought about why folks might want to revolt against christianity- and i couldn't come up with a single thing. nope. i came up with several- i mean besides the above mentioned issues combined with pedophilia and misuse of funds- and i am going to list them here. you can make your own conclusions about the 'christian agenda' and really ask yourself if these folks deserve to be left alone:

teacher on the front line as faith and science collide

christian right's got a new stealth tactic to smuggle creationism into classes

theocratic sect prays for real armageddon- not to mention rain for dnc convention

undercover at hagee's united for israel convention

sarah palin and feminists for life

bushco white house: birth control = abortion

judge rules doctors must treat gays in spite of religious beliefs

Where the textbook states, for example, that “Homo sapiens appeared in Africa 200,000 years ago based on fossil and DNA evidence,” “Exposed” counters that “The fossil evidence of hominids (alleged human ancestors) is extremely limited.” A pastor at a local church, Mr. Campbell learned, had given a copy of “Exposed” to every graduating senior the previous year.

If it had been up to "creationists" we would still be having wars, but we would still be fighting them with sticks and stones. Of course we would have gone extinct thousands of years ago from disease and malnutrition.

According to Bentley and a handful of other "hyper-charismatic" preachers advancing the same agenda, Joel's Army is prophesied to become an Armageddon-ready military force of young people with a divine mandate to physically impose Christian "dominion" on non-believers.

Hmmm... This man and his followers are a scary bunch.

They say its prophesy that they "Physically" impose Christianity upon nonbelievers? Holy crap! Literally. But they will attempt it some day and likely find themselves in need of a miracle in order to pull it off...

Nevers repeatedly tried to push through legislation promoting creationism. In 2001, he voted in favor of a measure declaring Charles Darwin and the theory of evolution to be the cause for racism.

Nevers also introduced a resolution encouraging schools not to purchase textbooks that "do not provide students with opportunities to learn that there are differing scientific views on certain controversial issues in science."

Though he insists the new law he sponsored is not intended to promote creationism in public schools, Nevers was caught telling the Hammond Daily Star otherwise.

"[The LFF] believe[s] that scientific data related to creationism should be discussed when dealing with Darwin's theory," Nevers told the newspaper. "This would allow the discussion of scientific facts. I feel the students should know there are weaknesses and strengths in both scientific arguments."

Boy! How I wish I was sixteen again! I wouldn't have to lug around a twenty pound science book. The new "science" books are going to be so gutted of truth that they'll be pamphlets. Oh! what fools the ignorant be.

"I don't want the U.S. to be evenhanded in the Middle East," Engel told the crowd after advocating going solo in military enterprises. "I want the U.S. to stand squarely and behind our only true ally, Israel." That sort of un-evenhandedness is, perhaps, behind what seemed to be a disregard for the fate of Palestinians who were kicked off their land and now live in refugee camps in neighboring countries. It's not unreasonable to say that those refugees remain in camps because of the inaction of Arab governments, but to say that they're there "not because of anything Israel did," as Engel said, seems to miss a bit of the history.

Engel and Hagee and their ilk are monsters without logic, hearts, and truth.

McCain's veep pick is a proud member of Feminists for Life, which tries to convince young women that choice means giving up the right to 'choose.'

Their slogan on their website is "Refuse to Choose"...

But wasn't Palin chosen by McCain and didn't she then choose to be selected to run with him? The members of the F for L I'm sure admit that "God" chose for them to be so. They chose to be interviewed. They chose to believe the way that they do. They chose to be evasive in their true intent. They chose to be many things.

They did not, however, choose to be born women anymore than I chose to be born a male. And that is pretty much the extent of the things they didn't choose.

Seems to me that their website slogan is rather disingenuous and they should change it to reflect more of their intent. "Deny Choice"...

In other words, as Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards explains in a press release Tuesday, the draft rule redefines "some of the most common and effective methods of birth control" as abortion. Richards adds, "As a result, women's ability to manage their own health care is at risk of being compromised by politics and ideology."

These monsters must be defeated at all costs or this country will no longer be a beacon of freedom. If they succeed there will come a day that the US is preemptively struck to free its peoples from oppression.

California doctors who have religious objections to gays and lesbians must nevertheless treat them the same as any other patient or find a colleague in the office who will do so, the state Supreme Court ruled unanimously Monday.

These doctors did not take the Hippocratic Oath...They took the Hypocritical Oath. Scum.

Good one Betmo! This is not a Christian agenda today! It is a perverted Christian agenda
I have been a Christian all my life mostly as a Catholic and their is a perversion of Christianity by fundamentalists that seem to be lock step with the Pope and I do not like what I am seeing!
No wonder Muslims are in large part upset I am too! It is denied but we have the Christan Crusades II occurring hand in hand with the Islamist Crusades. Not good!
