nah- not in so many words but there is more research attempting to explain why conservatives report being happier than liberals:
"Regardless of marital status, income or church attendance, right-wing individuals reported greater life satisfaction and well-being than left-wingers, the new study found. Conservatives also scored highest on measures of rationalization, which gauge a person's tendency to justify, or explain away, inequalities."

I wouldn't take the poll. I don't like the implications. I am liberal and very Happy but screw them. i guess that poll does add credence to "money buys Happiness"
That's the biggest crock of BS I've heard since GWB said he was a compassionate conservative.
