uncharted territory

distilling what i have been learning about politics, economics, human nature and so on- and letting it ramble around in my brain- i just don't know what else to write about. i guess i am at a point where preaching daily to the choir of true believers is passe. i am sure folks don't want to hear about my thoughts on how i believe that this planet is giving up the ghost- so to speak- every post. but it's how i feel. it may or may not happen in my lifetime- i don't know. i lost count how many times i have heard 'for the first time in history' in regards to climate change, economics, erosion of civil liberties, etc.. my thought is- america is over. most folks don't want to hear it and don't want to believe it. but there it is. the foxes are firmly in charge of not only the henhouse- but the farmer's house, the town hall, and so on...

we cannot believe anything any politician says. cynical, perhaps, but all one has to do is look at the 'presidential election' and how the last 3 candidates conduct themselves. what bothers me is that all of our elected representatives are americans. the former mayor of my city lives up the street and around the corner from me- within walking distance. how many positions removed was he from national office? he got voted out because he didn't have this city's best interests at heart. how is he different than any of the congresspeople we have now? they all started out at the local and state level. anyhoo-

our way of life is not sustainable and it is killing us- whether it's the genetically modified fruits and vegetables or the unethically grown and slaughter animals or the pollution of our water and air- it cannot continue indefinitely. and when i read the news- there is nothing but reinforcement of my viewpoint for me. and it is like watching a car accident about to happen and not being able to prevent it. i don't think things are going to work out for the best. there isn't anyone in a power position who is willing to put the best interests of humanity first- there isn't anyone standing against the unchecked oligarchy that has taken over our government and who is propping up similar governments all over the western world.

so- do i post about this every day? or do i let people live out their lives as comfortably as they can in ignorant bliss? is there a point to me typing away about nothing just to hold my place online within the blogging community? or will there always be someone who will come by to check in because they have a relationship with me on a deeper level? i am not going to shut down the blog- because i do value the friendships i have made here online- but i can't write if i have nothing left to say. there may come a time when i feel like writing personal thoughts or daily life- or something random- and that's fine too. in the end, i started the blog for me and i have written what i thought was true- and i will continue to do so. silence is a part of life. so perhaps this is just the silence between folks when they are comfortable enough with each other to let it be.

this planet and our country are moving into an era which resembles those of the past- human nature doesn't really change at the core. read 'jesus the egyptian' by richard a. gabriel- he posits that christianity ripped off the ancient egyptian osiris religion. so- there really aren't many original ideas left out there- technology or no. but this time our planet is in real peril. too many people pooh-pooh this off but the reality is already here. water shortages and food shortages are already here. water wars and privatization are already taking place. land grabs and corporatocracy are already here. the world is headed towards a unified totalitarian way of life. it's already here.

this is why i am taking a hiatus. i need to refocus my energies on making sure that i am not a statistic in this new world order. i intend to become as self sufficient as i can so that my family survives- and really, in the grander scheme of things, those folks who don't- i can't feel sympathy for. the pieces are out there to put together- there isn't a miracle cure for this one. none of the 3 candidates for president can save this country or this planet. there simply isn't time left. this isn't to instill helplessness and hoplessness. it is simply what i view as the true state of affairs. you can continue on in the same vein and cling to hope- or you can hunker down and make sure your family is protected. there really isn't much else left to do. namaste.

"the choir of true believers"
Inspect that choir very carefully for impostors. They are multitude!

I'll keep you linked just the same.

I'm a big fan of American Revolutionary history. The first several elections for president in this country were rife with scandal, especially in the voting process.

I can't help but see that we are coming full circle as a nation. Despite my occasional rant, and liberal use of derogatory railing about the government, I can't help but think we'll some how get through it.

I don't know you that well betmo, but I have always (seriously) enjoyed reading your point of view, no matter how repetitious you think you are.

Have a good break, and I really do hope to see "Updated!" pop up next your link on my page sooner, rather than later.

We aren't heading towards a uniformity of control, we are heading away from it. The problems you rightly mention have already caused Russia and South America to stand up and say "no," and as the situation gets exacerbated that will only spread.

You see a New World Order. I look at the tubes and see a United States unraveling. It'll be interesting to see who among us still bears the title "American" in 10 years.

As far as "preaching to the choir," this isn't always true. I must share one of my recent visitors with you.

You'd be mistaken about "people want to hear" your words. But it is not a mistake made, it is you needing to breathe, and that is absolutely understandable.

Peace.

A break can clear the head and conger up new ideas. Don't give up writing, we need the motivation, even if it's the same motivation.

Since we know how to prevent these problems, it is no ACCIDENT. People must speak out, constantly. It takes a long time to move a society.

If you didn't care, you wouldn't work so hard to survive. Survive for what? To live in a society that is destroying itself and the planet? Why would you want your children to have to live in such a world? Are their lives to be lived in a cave?

You are tired. Take a break. Post again in the Fall when the election is in full swing. Your voice echoes many American's thinking and is needed.

Don't put limits on your posts. If you feel like writing about the nomination elections, do it.

I've gotten tired of writing, which is why I post other's writings.

I'll get back to writing myself, I just didn't know how else to say basically the same thing.
