I really don't know what the implications are or would be of a failing Africa wheat crop as they get most from the outside.
I just heard this morning that when all is said and done in my mind it is because of the housing debacle and skyrocketing oil prices.
This morning they were saying the speculators were moving from finance and the housing market to food commodities thus skyrocketing those prices too.
It stinks but you know there are 2 economies and those monkeys are screwing ours. There was talk this morning of limiting the speculation and gains but as in the fuel market that will never happen and will only make things worse. This is really terrible!

i guess i was concerned about the actual crop failures due to the rust fungus sweeping through crops right now. add to that drought in places like australia- and breads, cereals, pastas, etc.- short supplied and prices out of reach for the very poor who depend on those foods to stretch meager budgets. yes, the food prices are being fixed by speculators- and water is fast being considered a commodity. i am going to try and stockpile some bottled for emergencies.

Anyway you look at it I won't add to the angst you know what it all means. I often feel guilty making people think about reality and the future. i'll shut up!
