i have lost track with the holidays being in the week and not on the weekend. you would think that we could just celebrate on the weekends anyway- i mean the government moves holidays around all of the time to make long weekends- why not these? at least with thanksgiving you know you are getting a long weekend. thursday thru sunday. anyway, i am on the winning end of an upper respiratory virus- and i must say- i am glad that my nose has stopped it's nonsense. between the sneezing and the blowing- i am surprised i have a nose left. and yes, virginia, there is a rudolph- except he changed into a she and is named betmo :) i didn't follow the Caucasus- and perhaps i should have- but i am voting kucinich in my primary anyway. we will see how things pan out but why anyone would vote for any of the front runners is beyond me. you have viable, experienced leaders in the so called second tier- who have what the front runners don't- integrity. if enough folks vote for the best candidate- and not the one that the media or pundits tell you is the best one- then we could possibly have a shot at getting out of this mess. if you continue to follow the front runners- then we will have business- and corporation- as usual. just a thought. voting probably means nothing here anymore anyhow- see the previous post.
obama and edwards- too churchy for me. clinton- too clinton for me. i am voting my heart and conscience- kucinich.

I just finished watching Democracy Now on TV. I could have gotten the show this morning on radio, but I was busy trying to figure out what day of the week it was. Life is like that some days.
The talk on Democracy Now was about the advisors that the candidates have. All the candidates, but focusing on the Democrats. The report pretty much summed it all up that a politician is a politician is a politician. Go read the report, or listen to the archived feed. Candidates are afraid to choose some advisor that isn't in the fold of the party, and this war mongering posture has been going on since 1980 and the reagan years. HW Bush, then Clinton for 8 years, then dubya for 8, then... who? Clinton again? Or another who is advised by the same people that wants to keep the machine running smoothly and status quo?
It is a sad state of affairs and I don't know what to do about it. I'm afraid I can't take 10 months of this crap.
i know. really, this whole thing is a pretense to make us believe that we have any kind of control over what happens to us. it's almost funny really. we piss and moan over which candidate is more viable or which strategy to employ where- and all the while- they are all in a back room enjoying a cigar and nice brandy and laughing all the way to the bank. status quo indeed. i am not saying don't vote- i am just saying- don't believe that it will do one damned bit of good. 2006 should have taught us that.
