The Future Was Yesterday said...

I have a feeling that most folks are quite content to live their lives with minimal change and hope for the best or live in denial that there is anything wrong.
Two entirely different groups there, imo. No one likes to have their life in a constant state of upheaval, thus the desire for minimal change.

The group in denial..... They may well stay in that position until the "sky falls" so to speak. The question then will be, should we take care of them? That will be a biggie down the road, imo.

The legacy that this (my) generation is leaving those kids is one of plundering, literally.

There are a lot of kids like your friend's who see what's going on and sadly they are so pissed at our generation for allowing it. Most of us old hippies did everything we could to try to make a difference but that took a while and since we were seen as "old hippies" no one listened.

I want to say they will be okay and everything will work out okay, but I'm just not sure of that.

It bothers me to see so, many people that are disgruntled but remain stagnant at the world around them.
