one of those weeks

you know the ones- weeks where you think about the state of the world and this country- and you think- why bother? why bother when people are so full of themselves? why bother when your fellow human beings are too busy to give a damn- and thus leave it up to others? why bother when people take themselves and their station in life so seriously? i am having a why bother? moment. i mean ultimately, there's a selfish reason to bother- i would like my planet livable and not have to live in a police state. i would like to live next door to people who i didn't have to worry about being evil human beings- unlike these folks. there are plenty of people in this country who are 'too important' to be bothered and actually agree with the way things are going. i hope that their numbers are dwindling. i can only hope that all of those self important people who pretend to be progressive get a clue. for now, i really don't think i have anything more to say. enjoy.

i well know those weeks, which for me can extend into months. there's so much posturing going off, and it must be driving some of the pod people nuts, as it's not clear which stance to take.

good post!

There is really only one stance to take, it unfortunately it isn't the stance the rest of the greedy misers of both parties, and much of the country will take.

I can understand the mood: Why bother!

way. to. make. my. blood. boil! i hadn't heard about that case - nor the other b.s. about jena!!! i wish i had some $ to throw their way. :( i'm revising my post today to link that article.

i guess i bother, when all feels hopeless, because i refuse to align myself with the likes of those with their heads firmly planted in the sand... you'll be back aswingin' - i just know it.

My god...Is the moon full or something?

Your's is the forth or fifth blog today with sentiments like this on it. Including my own!

Life is very frustrating in America right now, and I guess, in spite of what you say...Some of us do notice it.

Unfortunately, our representatives appear not to care.

everyone gets overwhelmed and feel like their stagnating at times- but if we just keep talking and try to figure out where do we go from here- that is the main thing...I call it a Quicksand moment-- it will pass Betmo...promise...

( what are "pod people"??...this was nice it totally confused me...)

Funny, I just had a realization very similar to yours. I'm working on letting go of my selfish "moments" and hoping to be a more positive, active individual in my community. For example, I'm getting rid of all my pointless fashion magazines and giving them to the recycling bin. Keep working for the better of your surroundings and just hope others will follow. At least you can have the satisfaction of knowing that you ARE trying because YOU CARE.
