thought for tuesday- lies to the union

well, let's see- the figurehead is going to deliver his annual lies to the union address tonight- and apparently, it is going to focus on a 'domestic agenda.' huh. who'd a thought he had one? i think that i would be remiss if i didn't highlight some of these areas on the domestic front in the frontman's own words- and no- i don't make this stuff up:

education:

"i want it to be said that the bush administration was a results-oriented administration, because i believe the results of focusing our attention and energy on teaching children to read and having an education system that's responsive to the child and to the parents, as opposed to mired in a system that refuses to change, will make america what we want it to be--a literate country and a hopefuller country." --washington, d.c.; january 11, 2001

energy:

"over the long term, the most efficient way to conserve energy is by using energy more efficiently." --radio address; may 12, 2001

economy:

"recession means that people's incomes, at the employer level, are going down, basically, relative to costs, people are getting laid off." --washington, d.c; february 19, 2004

america, right wing style:

"it's important for us to explain to our nation that life is important. it's not only life of babies, but it's life of children living in, you know, the dark dungeons of the internet." --arlington heights, illinois; october 24, 2000

"will the highways on the internet become more few?" --concord, new hampshire; january 29, 2000

iraq war:

"we ended the rule of one of history's worst tyrants, and in so doing, we not only freed the american people, we made our own people more secure."-- crawford, texas; may 3, 2003

"the march to war hurt the economy. Laura reminded me a while ago that remember what was on the tv screens- she calls me 'george w.'- 'george w.' i call her 'first lady.' no, anyway- she said, we said, march to war on our tv screen." --bay shore, new york; march 11, 2004

i have a feeling that i know what caused the whole confusion with our executive branch and legislative branch- in the figurehead's words:

"the legislature's job is to write law. it's the executive branch's job to interpret law." --austin, texas; november 22, 2000

but through it all, the "flexible" and "thick skinned" figurehead has persevered in spite of being arguably the most hated man on this planet. how or wny? you might ask- one last quote to put it in perspective:

"and i am an optimistic person. i guess if you want to try to find something to be pessimistic about, you can find it, no matter how hard you look, you know?" --washington, d.c.; june 15, 2004

OK see I am disgusted every time I am reminded of his stupidity.

I wonder how he'll explain himself tonight.

betmo, I am so excited. You have provided me the opportunity to use my cliche for the day: "Ignorance is bliss." Wonderful post. Thanks, as always.

heard he mentioned the "environment" only briefly.

So, the democrats look like they have a couple potential leaders who probably cant win, right.

Is a vote for hilary a vote for Bill?
