"politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it whether it exists or not, diagnosing it incorrectly, and applying the wrong remedy." ernest benn
Betmo, Great quote, I left positions in the school system because of politics. It made me sick, I had a friend who was a lunatic like me ,always running involved and doing. He decided to get into politics and I wouldn't even shake his hand now. I find most sleazy and the oil dripping off his is the same.
Interesting quote, I had it attributed to Groucho Marx. I wonder who was the original? Boo and Divajood bring up an interesting point (the same point IMO). How else can one explain, in a nation of nearly 300 million, the selection of a dyslexic C student as president? A perhaps more salient point is that the requirements for getting elected which are basically self-serving are so at odds with the requirements of fulfilling the office which SHOULD be in the service of all.
"Politics is the practice of seeking weakness and finding advantage, regardless of any practical merit in either, and whether actually accomplished or not, claiming to have done so."

Don't we wonder why the people who are qualified to actually BE in government don't want it?

Sadly, it's true
that's not bad. How about this?
